Riverside Church in Three Rivers Michigan gave away three thousand dollars on June 13th and 14th of 2009. The money was given away to people who were in the service along with three rules they had to follow.

1. You can’t spend it on yourself.
2. You can’t give it back to the church.
3. You have to let us know what you did.

The link to the Riverside Church website is filled with comments from members of how they used the money to bless others. Many gave the money away to someone they knew who needed financial help. One person helped pay for prescription medications for someone at the drug store and others bought lunch for total strangers.

The amount that each person was given varied. Some reported getting $10 while others said they received $20. The money was was given in an envelope to anyone who would agree to the three rules.
